Established in 1975, Parkwood Branch Library is located in a leased facility in the Parkwood Shopping Center, about nine miles from the Main Library (near the Research Triangle Park) and serves southern Durham County. Service emphasis is on popular reading materials and children's programming to encourage love of reading. The branch was expanded to 9500 sq ft in October 1998.
