| Scope and Content: | The Durham Council of Garden Clubs collection, 1963, 1975-1999, includes 5 scrapbooks and one notebook. Materials contained in these books are correspondence, awards, clippings, agendas, business reports, and flower show information. The Durham Council of Garden Clubs has worked to facilitate communication between all of the Durham garden clubs and to aid in the creation or disbandment of such clubs since 1941. The Council coordinated large community service projects with the branches of the Durham garden clubs and conducts “Homes Tours” to exhibit beautiful homes and gardens in Durham. | |

Copies of The North Carolina Gardner are included inside the scrapbook and Scroll Award won by Durham County Garden Club for “Best Standard Flower Show Schedule.” In addition, there are extra copies of the 1994 tour of homes and gardens. | |
