Relationship of donor or materials to the DCL/NCR	The Four Seasons Garden Club is an active participant in the community of Durham County. They work to provide community service and contribute to the betterment of this city. Members of the club are Durham residents and their actions reflect the active roles citizens take in local organizations.

Scope and Content:	The Four Seasons Garden Club collection, 1971-1997, is the product of one of the branches of the Durham Garden Club association. Clippings, photographs, correspondence, award applications, and memorabilia are included reflecting the activities of the club. The Four Seasons Garden club, organized in 1957, worked in garden therapy and in community service. The club was also involved with Japanese flower arrangement and the collection includes work done with visiting Japanese flower arrangers.

	Folder 1-Brochures, pictures of plants from planners/magazines, flower stickers and a pamplet entitled “Wildflowers of North Carolina Roadsides”, flower stickers.
	Box 2: Scrapbook-1984-1985: annual reports, officers, award winning arrangement photographs, Christmas socials, newspaper articles, volunteer activities, art projects at the YMCA, ribbons for winners of flower shows.
	Folder 1-Community project award application entitled “North Carolina #31 Highland and Raleigh Award for Garden Therapy,” undated.

	Folder 3-Application for the “#32 Gertrude Gardner Award for Garden Therapy,” (1988)
	Folder 4-“#69B Club of the Year Award” (1988); this focuses on the Dixon Road Home of the Durham County Community Living Program. A Pamphlet on the Flower Show of 1987 is included with winning markers from the show.
	Box 3: Scrapbook-1993-1994: programs, awards, certifications, thank you letters for donations, social photographs; Misc. items found at the back of the book include photographs, thank you card for money donation in memory of an individual, letter describing expansion of the club.
