Meet local author Sarah Dessen at the North Regional Library, 211 Milton Road, Saturday, June 21st at 2:00 pm. Sarah will be reading from her new best selling book Lock and Key; followed by a book signing.
Sarah, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is the author of seven young adult books. You can read more about Sarah on her website.

Durham County Library has received a gift of real estate from a long-time library customer.
Dorothy Gier, a former 15-year Durham resident, donated her home in the Willowhaven area to the Durham Library Foundation to show her gratitude for the many hours she enjoyed reading and researching information at the North Branch. Read more![]()

Two new resources have been added to the Durham County Library's list of online tools. The Small Business Resource Center covers all major areas of starting, operating and maintaining a business from financing, management, marketing, accounting, taxes and more. The Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center is a full-text resource covering today’s hottest social issues, from Terrorism to Endangered Species, Stem Cell Research to Gun Control.

North Carolina Collection & Online Exhibits
The End of Tobacco Road: Scenes from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company's final days in Durham, North Carolina, 1999. An online exhibit of photographs by Laura Drey; designed by University of North Carolina, School of Information and Library Science graduate student Johanna Russ.
