Originally established in 1954 as a branch of the Durham Colored Library, McDougald Terrace Community Library is located in a room of the McDougald Terrace Community Center near NCCU and serves the residents of the McDougald Terrace neighborhood and the surrounding area.

Facility:

• 450 square feet
• study seating for 25

Collection:

• 4200 books (70% children's)
• 35 magazine subscriptions
• puzzles and games for in-house use

Services and Features:

• children's programs and activities
• children's reading incentive programs
• community bulletin board
• limited tutoring
