Have you tried downloadables? The Durham County Library is now offering three different types of downloadables (see the descriptions below). You will also find listings for free eBook, eAudioBook, music and videos on our downloadable page.

With Overdrive you can listen to an audiobook on your computer or portable device, at any time of the day or night from anywhere in the world! All you will need is your library card number. PLEASE NOTE: OverDrive WMA Audiobook titles, provided by OverDrive, Inc., use DRM protection technology from Microsoft Corporation. You will need your library card number and your PIN number. Your PIN is the last four digits of your phone number. PLEASE NOTE: MANY TITLES ARE NOW COMPATIBLE WITH iPODs. PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION OF THE MEDIA CONSOLE.

Overdrive, our vendor for eAudioBooks has now made available over 15,000 eBook titles from Project Gutenberg. These titles are available without signing into Overdrive, the checkouts from the collection do not count against your regular checkout/lending options from Overdrive, the downloads do not expire and you use Adobe Digital Editions software to view them.
