The First Bookmobile
The primary mission of Durham County Library’s North Carolina Collection is to collect and preserve the history of the city and county of Durham and make it available to the people of Durham County. For more information see About the North Carolina Collection.
The Dr. Benjamin E. Powell Memorial Room which houses the North Carolina Collection is located on the third floor of the main library and is open to the public Monday through Thursday 10:00-5:00, and Friday and Saturday 2:00-5:00. Please contact us with any questions or to make an appointment. 560-0171.
