Scope and Content:	The Durham City Council of Parent-Teacher Associations Collection, 1937-1942, consists of four scrapbooks containing reports, programs, and newspaper clippings concerning the activities of local and national PTAs. The City Council was organized as a governing and coordinating body for the PTA organizations of various Durham schools. The group promoted child welfare by running newspaper columns, making radio broadcasts, sponsoring lectures, and presenting performances and other events.
Organization of Collection:	Each scrapbook contains programs, clippings, and related materials concerning the activities of national and local parent-teacher associations.
