Friends of the Durham County Library
The all-volunteer Friends of the Durham Library, founded in 1968 and now boasting more than 1,250 members, has a long history of providing volunteer and financial support for library programs, services and equipment, funded primarily through book sales held twice a year. The Friends received statewide recognition with the 2005 Frances B. Reid Award "for outstanding service to their library and their community." You can donate your old books, CDs or DVDs to the Friends of the Durham Library.
Durham County Library Foundation
The Durham Library Foundation develops and encourages the long-term financial health and growth of the Library through annual gifts, endowment and capital contributions.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is charged to review and make recommendations to the Director of Libraries, County Manager, or Board of County Commissioners, as appropriate, on proposed library programs, policies, and regulations for the government of the Library.
