PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
For a book club to be eligible to check out a Nook Book Club Kit you must have 2 or more members but no more than 12 members.
We request that each member of your book club have a Durham County Library card. Each member of your club will have one Nook checked out on their library card. In addition, the contact person for your book club will have a Nook Book Club Kit checked out on their library card.
The contact person will be responsible for pickup and dropoff of the Nook Book Club Kit. A photo ID will be required for pickup.
By checking out a Nook Book Club Kit each member agrees to return the Nook equipment in the same order and condition as when received, and if equipment is damaged or lost while on loan, agree to reimburse the library for the cost of replacement:
- Nook Replacement Fee: $149.00
- AC Adapter and USB Cable: $15.00
- Silicone Case: $20.00
- Processing Fee: $5.00
- Book Club Kit Tote Bag: $5.00
- Overdue Fees: .25¢ per day; 3-day grace period; $1 per item charged on 4th day overdue
- Items are declared lost at 40 days overdue
Checkout period for the Nook Book Club Kit is four (4) weeks with no renewals.
The Durham County Library cannot guarantee that a Nook Book Club Kit will be available on a specific date.
Nook Book Club Kits will be picked up and returned to a staff member at the Information Desk on the second floor of the Main Library. They cannot be returned at any other location, or placed in a book drop. Return in the book drop may result in damage and the borrower paying the FULL PRICE of the Nooks.
Tampering with the Nook's security features is prohibited and may result in suspension of Nook borrowing privileges. Tampering includes, but is not limited to, hacking, cracking or modifications of any sort. All Nooks will be purged of any added content upon return.
FOR THE FASTEST SERVICE; PLEASE HAVE ALL THE LIBRARY CARD NUMBERS OF YOUR MEMBERS BEFORE SUBMITTING THE FORM.
