ReadWest Magazine

An online magazine "honoring authors of Western Literature," this site has links to authors, book reviews, poetry, and news of interest to western readers. It includes the Spur Award winners, with information about the books and their authors and also has a section of short fiction that you can read online. A calendar lists where authors will be reading across the country.

Western Writers of America

The WWA is an organization primarily of writers, the group that gives the Spur Award for the best western novels every year, and this is their official website, with the usual information on dues, conventions, etc. But it also provides an excellent online magazine, Roundup, which has a wealth of current information of new western books, as well as articles about their authors and other subjects of general interest.

Women Writing the West

This is another organizational website, an important one from which you can connect with women writers, publishers, editors, and others interested in telling the stories of the women who lived in the west. The site has author links and samples from their newsletter.
