Science in the Summer Enrichment Program
2013 Class Schedule
GlaxoSmithKline’s Science in the Summer program in North Carolina is a fun and free science education program that helps elementary and middle-school children “grow into science.” Through classes held at Durham County Library and taught by certified teachers, this program gets kids excited about learning science with hands-on experiments. GlaxoSmithKline’s Science in the Summer is sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and administered by Morehead Planetarium and Science Center in partnership with local libraries and local parks and recreation departments. This is the sixth year the program is being held in North Carolina.
The 2013 program will focus on Genetics. As part of this theme, students will learn about genetics through investigations of cell structure, chromosomes, DNA, and animal adaptations.
All children must be pre-registered to attend Science in the Summer. A parent must fill out the online registration form for her or his child. Children are selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
GlaxoSmithKline's Science in the Summer enrichment program will be offered in 6 of our locations. The 2013 class schedule is listed below, by location name.
Remember, registration begins at 9 a.m. on different days for different sessions. The schedule below shows the date that registration opens for each session. The registration link will take you to the registration page. If you do not see your session listed, registration has not yet begun for that session.
