Literature is but one of the areas available here. That section alone offers author links, message and story boards. Links to articles about horror compliment the many direct links to the full texts of classic and current horror stories.
This site is a labor of love providing information on earlier writers who influenced the current crop but are often out of print themselves. Several authors are featured separately and a classic fantasy list offers author links and, when possible, full on-line texts of hard to find stories, including ancient and classical texts that are relevant.
This is a new site, still under construction and unapologetic about it. Their best feature at present is the engagingly annotated (albeit incomplete) list of links to sites for authors, which encourages browsing.
Links to members' pages are here, as is a full listing of winners of their annual Stoker Award. The reading lists include their Top Horror Of All Time and 13 Recommended Title Currently in Bookstores.
This site serves students in the field as well as interested newcomers. It features only works published before 1950, sometimes a few centuries before. Masters of the ghost story, such as M.R. James and J. Sheridan Le Fanu, can be found in their full-text library, as can originators of the "creepy castle, gloomy hero" trend such as "Monk" Lewis, Byron, and Bulwer-Lytton ("It was a dark and stormy").
